Travels
What a summer it has been! We traveled back to Connecticut in June, and that trip had a wide range of emotions. The amount of self-reflection that happened on the trip was settling for my soul. That is the place where Zach and I made a home, and we left as a family of three. It gave me the feels to be back as a family of two. Seeing our friends and the beautiful memory box that Zach’s boss had put together for him at ESPN brought up a mix of emotions, but most of all, immense gratitude towards his coworkers, bosses, friends, and family. You all walked with us through our darkest days, and I will always be grateful to God for all your love and support.
The book of Philippians was one I read over and over again during Zach’s cancer journey, and the book of the bible I read to him while he was in the hospital the week before he died.
Philippians 4:12-13 says:
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through him who gives me strength.”
This verse was one I lived by to the core during that time, and I strive to continue living by it.
